Ocean, rooftop & sunset
Places where the setting matters as much as the drink, from open-air hotel terraces to ocean-view lounges.
A better way to find your Waikīkī bar
WaikikiBars.com is being built as a clean, mobile-first directory of bars physically located in Waikīkī—including public hotel bars, oceanfront lounges, live-music rooms, sports bars, casual hangouts and polished places for a proper night out.
Discover Waikīkī after dark
The finished directory will help visitors and locals understand what each venue generally feels like before they walk in—without pretending that one bar is universally better than another.
Places where the setting matters as much as the drink, from open-air hotel terraces to ocean-view lounges.
Find venues known for live performers, DJs, karaoke, dancing or a more energetic late-night atmosphere.
Identify relaxed spots with screens, familiar food, approachable pricing and an easygoing crowd.
Explore quieter, more polished rooms suited to conversation, date nights, hotel evenings and crafted drinks.
See whether a venue offers snacks, full meals, late-night food or a bar experience centered around dining.
Understand which places may work for birthdays, reunions, bachelor or bachelorette groups and private functions.
The WaikikiBars approach
Each venue profile will focus on practical expectations: atmosphere, setting, crowd, indoor or outdoor character, food availability, entertainment, sports focus, group suitability and whether the overall feel is casual, lively, quiet, upscale, visitor-oriented or local-leaning.
A beach bar, sports bar and cocktail lounge serve different moments. Reducing them to one score is rarely useful.
Venue profiles will use neutral editorial descriptions rather than repackaging somebody else’s opinion.
Many of Waikīkī’s most distinctive bars are inside hotels but open to the public. They belong in the directory.
Hours, entertainment and venue details can change. Profiles will show when information was reviewed whenever practical.
A real geographic boundary
WaikikiBars.com will remain tightly focused on venues physically located within Waikīkī. It will not inflate the directory with bars in Ala Moana, Kakaʻako, Kapahulu, Downtown Honolulu or other nearby neighborhoods. Those places may be excellent—but they are not Waikīkī bars.
Directory in development
Venue research, profile structure, discovery categories and mobile browsing are being prepared. The goal is one simple directory on the surface, supported by detailed venue and discovery pages underneath.
